SO HOW CAN WordPlay HELP YOUR CHILD?

  •  Most Importantly, the emphasis is on fun whilst the children are learning. If children do not enjoy what they are doing they will loose interest, and progression will be difficult.
  • WordPlay sessions, both individual and group, are filled with stories, rhymes and poems, art, craft and musical movement. All these are used to help your child learn phonics, letter shapes and word formation.
  • In nursery and reception classes WordPlay can offer individual, or a series of sessions, based on the foundation stage curriculum.
  • WordPlay is keen to work with parents to encourage them and give guidance on how to help their children develop in Communication, Language and Literacy, in informal small group situations.
  • WordPlay provides workshops for other practitioners to help them develop and build on the own expertise.
  • Through WordPlay Helen Slark encourages Childcare students through workshops, and by sharing the benefit of her own knowledge of Communication, Language and Literacy for the Early Years.

Pre School Classes in the UK

Through WordPlay, Helen puts fun into the learning of Communication, Language and Literacy skills for young children, bringing a colourful world of phonics, letters and words into their lives.

   WELCOME TO WORDPLAY

EVERY child deserves the best opportunities to learn and develop their skills for life.

Making knowledge an enjoyable experience from an early age can bring about a huge difference to a child’s attitude to future learning.

WordPlay has been created by child learning professional Helen Slark to equip children from the ages of 3-11 years with the necessary skills to develop their own learning.

WordPlay can be used to further advance a child’s learning during the Foundation stage and key stages one and two.

It can also be a great help to children experiencing learning stagnation during their primary school years.

Through talking, reading, listening, mark-making, writing and phonics, WordPlay puts children on the path to happy and content learning and helps them to communicate with both children and adults.

Sessions encourage a child’s interest in words and sounds helping them to become more confident at conversation and ultimately increase their enjoyment of writing, reading books and poetry.

   MAKING A DIFFERENCE

WordPlay was founded by Helen Slark who has more than 30 years’ experience in Early Years learning, both as a teacher and a nursery specialist. Helen is one of the first people in the country to gain Early Years Professional Status (EYPS), a qualification required in all nurseries by 2015.

Because of her love of seeing young children progress during the initial stages of their schooling, Helen launched WordPlay to help those children who, for numerous reasons are not as advanced as their peers.
